HYATT CENTRIC STEPS UP ITS STYLE WITH DRYBAR AND BEE KIND

Hyatt Centric is a new boutique brand of full-service lifestyle hotels created for travelers who want to be in the middle of the action. Located in prime destinations, the hotels are designed to enable exploration and discovery. It’s only natural, then, to partner with Drybar, the premier blow-dry hair salon, to help guests look their best while shopping, enjoying a taste of the local cuisine or embarking on new adventures.

Drybar Buttercup Blow-Dryers are being rolled out in every Hyatt Centric guest room nationwide. Custom DIY tips and a how-to video from Drybar co-founder Alli Webb are available to help travelers achieve the perfect blowout.

“Hyatt Centric guests don’t life in a one-size-fits-all world,” says Jonathan Frolich, vice president of global brands, Andaz Hotels by Hyatt. “When traveling, they look for the personal touches in their daily lives. Our Drybar collaboration means Hyatt Centric guests will no longer need to pack their own hair dryers, leaving more room to fill their suitcase with what they need to explore the best of what the destination has to offer.”

Buttercup Hair Dryer

The Buttercup Blow-Dryer is powerful and lightweight—and a happy shade of yellow. It was designed by Webb, a Los Angeles-based stylist who built the popular chain of Drybar blowout salons. Proprietary technology helps to break up water quickly for reduced drying time, while nano beads produce negative ions that seal and smooth the hair cuticle, helping to reduce frizz and increase shine for more healthy-looking, hydrated hair.

I recently attended a media event at the Hyatt Centric, the Loop Chicago, a vintage Art Deco high-rise in the heart of the city’s downtown. The 257 all-modern guestrooms are appointed with environmentally conscious, complimentary high-speed wired and wireless internet, Keurig coffee brewing stations and restaurants to-go delivery service.

Hyatt Centric also is stocking its guest rooms with eco-friendly BeeKind bath and body products. The collection is made with natural skin conditioners like honey and chamomile and leaves behind a fresh lemon verbena scent. As part of its corporate mission, BeeKind helps support healthier and sustainable honeybee populations.

“Our focus is on providing a great guest room experience with everything guests want and nothing they don’t,” Frolich says.

Hyatt Centric hotels are in Chicago, Miami, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Park City, Houston, Long Beach and more to come.

Drybar founder Alli Webb offers travel styling tips in Chicago.

Here are a few tips for travelers from Alli Webb:

* Use Buttercup to freshen up second-day hair. Just re-wet and re-blow the front of your hair or any bedhead spots.

* Use dry shampoo when your roots get oily and dry conditioner to hydrate dry ends.

* Nothing kills a blowout faster than steam. Use a shower cap lined with terrycloth to protect your hair from humidity.
